PANews reported on February 5 that according to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that cryptocurrency exchange operator Bullish Global is considering an initial public offering (IPO) as early as this year. Its backers include billionaire Peter Thiel, and the company is working with Jefferies Financial Group Inc. to advance potential listing plans. People familiar with the matter said that discussions are still ongoing, the details of the issuance may change, and more banks may join the underwriting. Representatives of Bullish and Block.one did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A spokesperson for Jefferies declined to comment.
Bullish is reportedly led by CEO Tom Farley, has more than 275 employees and has offices in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Gibraltar and the Cayman Islands. The company's website shows that Bullish acquired the media agency CoinDesk from Digital Currency Group for an undisclosed price in 2023.
