Slow Fog: 200 security incidents occurred in 2025, resulting in losses of approximately $2.935 billion.

PANews reported on December 30th that, according to incomplete statistics from SlowMist, a total of 200 security incidents occurred in the blockchain field in 2025, resulting in losses of approximately $2.935 billion, an increase of about 46% year-on-year. DeFi accounted for 126 of these incidents, with losses of approximately $649 million; while trading platforms only experienced 12 incidents, yet caused losses of approximately $1.809 billion, with Bybit suffering the most severe single loss of approximately $1.46 billion. The main causes of these attacks were contract vulnerabilities (61 incidents) and the hacking of social media accounts (48 incidents). The increasing professionalism of hacker groups, the lowering of barriers to entry for RaaS/MaaS, and the use of Southeast Asian scams and privacy/mixing tools as money laundering channels are also contributing factors. In terms of regulation, many countries are accelerating the implementation of AML/CFT and improving the efficiency of on-chain tracking and asset freezing through freezing, sanctions, and cross-border enforcement.
