The U.S. SEC imposed $8.2 billion in economic penalties through 583 enforcement actions in 2024, a record high

PANews reported on November 24 that according to News.bitcoin, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that fiscal year 2024 will be a record year for law enforcement, highlighting its efforts to maintain market integrity and investor protection. The agency revealed that a total of 583 enforcement actions were filed in fiscal year 2024, with a financial penalty of $8.2 billion, the highest amount in SEC history. Compared with 2023, enforcement actions increased by 14%.
