PANews reported on December 25th that, according to PaperImperium, the Uniswap Foundation disbursed approximately $10 million in grants in 2024, but paid about $4.8 million in employee salaries, including $3.87 million in executive compensation, representing nearly 37.5% of its total expenditure ($12.8 million). In contrast, the Optimism Grants Council, with a budget of $63.5 million during the same period, only spent about $2.6 million on salaries. Analysts believe that the salaries of three Uniswap executives almost equaled the cost of the entire Optimism grant team, yet they only contributed 20% of its total grants, raising widespread questions within the community about the efficiency and return on investment in Uniswap's spending.
Uniswap Foundation has been criticized for "high salaries and low efficiency," with executive compensation accounting for 30% of annual expenditures.
