Vitalik: My biggest concern about ETH is application-layer risks. I hope developers will focus on three types of applications, including DeSoC.

PANews reported on January 28th that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, in an interview with Forsight News, stated that the biggest risk for ETH is not technical, but rather the "meaningless prosperity" at the application layer—that is, while the network may be running stably, if the thousands of applications built on it lack real social significance and merely become "toys or casinos," it will become the biggest risk to the Ethereum ecosystem. He most hopes that developers will focus on three types of applications: first, decentralized social networks (DeSoc), aiming to solve the problem of users being locked into platforms and lacking freedom of migration, building social networks that truly belong to users and are transferable; second, "smarter" DAOs, which need to go beyond simple token issuance and voting, deeply designing governance structures that match organizational goals, and promoting more diverse experiments; and third, more decentralized stablecoins to enrich the ecosystem's financial infrastructure.
