클레이튼 크래커팀은 텔레그램을 통해 "지난해 KLAY 유동화를 최소화하거나 중단했지만 최근 부족해진 팀 운영자금 및 신규 프로젝트 자금을 위해 보유하고 있던 KLAY를 활용해야 했다. 다양한 채널로 분산해 KLAY를 이동시킨 게 맞다"며 최근 논란이 된 트랜잭션에 대한 입장문을 내놨다. 이어 클레이튼 생태계 신뢰 회복을 위해 크러스트 유니버스 및 클레이튼 재단과 함께 방안을 논의하고 있으며, 향후 이러한 논란이 발생하지 않도록 할 것이라고 약속했다. 그러면서 크래커팀은 크러스트 유니버스로부터 독립한 지난해 이후 클레이튼 재단 및 크러스트 유니버스와는 독립된 법인이라며, 크러스트 유니버스 또는 클레이튼 재단의 내부자가 아니라고 강조했다.
