비인크립토에 따르면 미국 법원이 상품선물거래위원회(CFTC)가 파산한 암호화폐 거래소 MTI(Mirror Trading International)를 대상으로 제기한 소송과 관련해 유죄 판결을 내렸다. 앞서 CFTC는 MTI CEO인 코르넬리우스 요하네스 스타인베르크(Cornelius Johannes Steynberg)가 MTI 알고리즘으로 매달 10%의 수익을 낼 수 있다고 홍보했다며 17억 달러 규모 사기 혐의로 기소한 바 있다. 당시 CFTC는 해당 사건을 가리켜 비트코인과 관련된 최대 규모 사기 사건이라고 평가했다. 이와 관련해 미국 법원은 피해자들에게 배상금 17억 달러 이상을 지불할 것을 명령했다.
