암호화폐 온체인 애널리스트 윌리 우가 X를 통해 "비트코인 현물 ETF 유입되는 자금이 신규 투자자들로부터 온다고 섣불리 판단해서는 안 된다"고 경고했다. 그러면서 "CME BTC 선물과 BTC 현물 ETF 사이에는 캐리 트레이드(Carry Trade·금리가 낮은 통화로 자금을 조달해 금리가 높은 금융상품에 투자하는 트레이딩 방법)가 존재한다. 헤지펀드는 캐리 트레이드를 헷지하기 위해 일시적으로 ETF를 매수하는데, 이들이 포지션을 청산하면 ETF에서 자금이 빠져나간다"고 설명했다. 한편 지난 8일(현지시간) 11종 BTC 현물 ETF에서는 2.23억 달러 상당 자금이 순유출됐다.
