크립토슬레이트에 따르면, 달러 연동 스테이블코인 USD코인(USDC) 발행사 서클의 제러미 알레어(Jeremy Allaire) 최고경영자(CEO)가 5일(현지시간) 홍콩 핀테크 위크에 참석해 "스테이블코인은 글로벌 무역 결제 분야의 필수 요소로 자리잡을 것"이라며 "스테이블코인은 오늘날 복잡한 국가 간 거래를 간소화하고, 신흥시장의 효율성을 제고할 수 있는 잠재력을 갖고 있다. 전 세계적으로 필수적인 금융 도구가 될 것"이라고 말했다. 이어 그는 "스테이블코인은 전통 금융 인프라를 재편, 결제 과정에서 생기는 마찰과 비용을 줄일 수 있다. 나아가 앤트그룹, 텐센트 등 중국계 주요 IT기업들이 스테이블코인 시장에 뛰어들면 스테이블코인의 유용성이 보다 강화될 수 있을 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
