미국 워싱턴 소재 싱크탱크 국립공공정책연구센터(The National Center for Public Policy Research)가 아마존에 비트코인 채택을 고려할 것을 요청하는 제안서를 제출했다고 코인텔레그래프가 전했다. 센터는 현재 소비자물가지수(CPI)로 예측되는 인플레이션율은 4.95%이며, 아마존은 단기 현금성 자산 등 사내유보금이 880억 달러를 넘어서는 만큼 BTC를 채택해 인플레이션에 대비해야 한다는 취지다. 센터는 마이크로스트래티지의 BTC 매입을 예시로 들기도 했다.
