우블록체인에 따르면 홍콩 입법회 의원 조니 응이 재무부에 "암호화폐를 국가 준비금에 편입하고 외환기금을 사용해 지속 매수, 보유하는 것을 고려하느냐"고 질문하자 재무부 측이 "그렇지 않다"고 답했다. 재무부 측은 "암호화폐 관련 투자를 배제하고 있진 않으나 비중은 매우 작다"고 설명했다.
