아시아경제에 따르면 트럼프 고문들과 신설된 정부효율부(DOGE) 관계자들은 최근 은행 규제기관들을 이끌 후보자들을 면접하면서 트럼프 대통령 당선인이 FDIC를 폐지할 수 있는지를 물어봤다고 WSJ가 보도했다. 트럼프 고문들과 은행 규제기관장 후보자들은 미국 중앙은행인 연방준비제도(Fed)와 FDIC, OCC 등 주요 연방 은행 규제기관들을 통합하거나 구조조정하는 방안에 대해서도 논의했다고 WSJ은 전했다.
