크립토베이직에 따르면 코인베이스 최고법률책임자(CLO) 폴 그레왈(Paul Grewal)이 X를 통해 "암호화폐 마켓메이킹 업체 컴벌랜드(Cumberland)에 대한 미국 증권거래위원회(SEC) 소송 기각 요청을 지지하는 아미쿠스 브리프(amicus brief)를 제출했다"고 밝혔다. 이어 "컴벌랜드는 SEC의 집행식 규제의 또 다른 희생양이다. SEC의 접근 방식은 검증되지 않은 법적 해석에 의존해 암호화폐 시장에 혼란을 초래했다. SEC의 권한 남용, 디지털 자산과 기업을 공정하게 규제하는 명확한 가이드라인이 부재하기 때문에 기각돼야 한다"고 설명했다.
