블룸버그 통신이 업계 관계자 발언을 인용, 테슬라 CEO이자 미국 정부 효율성 부서(D.O.G.E) 대표인 일론 머스크가 부서 운영 용이성을 위해 블록체인 기술을 활용하는 방안을 제안했다고 보도했다. 디지털 원장(Digital Ledger) 기술을 활용해 연방 지출 추적, 데이터 보호, 지불, 관리 비용 등을 효율적으로 운영한다는 설명이다. 이를 위해 D.O.G.E 관계자들이 다수의 퍼블릭 블록체인 임원들과 대화를 나눈 것으로 알려졌다.
