외신에 따르면 미국 연방준비제도(Fed·연준) 이사 크리스토퍼 월러(Christopher Waller)가 "나는 연준의 본격적인 디지털통화 도입을 전적으로 지지하지 않는다. 현실세계에서는 그에 대한 수요가 크지 않다고 생각한다. 연준의 디지털달러 추진은 점점 희미해지고 있다"고 말했다.
