뉴욕주 법무장관 레티샤 제임스(Letitia James)가 다수의 의원에게 서한을 발송, 사기, 범죄행위 및 금융 불안정 완화를 위해 암호화폐에 대한 연방 규제안 통과를 촉구했다. 크립토인아메리카 진행자 엘리노어 테렛 X 계정에 따르면 그는 "비트코인의 광범위한 채택이 달러 지배력을 위협한다. 미국 달러의 지배력 보장을 위해 스테이블코인을 온쇼어링(Onshoring, 자국에서 제조업이나 서비스업 기능을 수행하는 것)해야 한다"고 강조했다. 이와 함꼐 그는 퇴직연금 계좌의 암호화폐 투자를 반대한다고 덧붙였다.
