NFT 매매 수익을 숨긴 미국 남성이 징역형에 처할 상황에 놓였다. 디크립트에 따르면 펜실베이니아 검찰은 40대 남성 웨일런 윌콕스가 지난 2021년부터 1300만 달러 규모의 크립토펑크 NFT 수십개를 매도해 수익을 얻었으면서 이를 신고하지 않았다며 기소했다. 그는 재판에서 혐의를 모두 인정했다. 그는 NFT 매매 미신고로 세금 320만 달러를 탈세한 것으로 조사됐다. 미국 현행법상 NFT를 매도한 경우, 수익이나 손실 규모를 신고하도록 돼 있다.
