월터 블룸버그에 따르면, 모건스탠리가 자사 온라인 증권 플랫폼 E-Trade에 암호화폐 거래 서비스를 제공할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 앞서 비트와이즈 최고투자책임자(CIO) 매트 호건(Matt Hougan)은 "메릴린치, 모건스탠리, 웰스파고, UBS 등 미국 내 4개 종합증권사(와이어하우스)들이 올 연말까지 비트코인 현물 ETF 거래를 지원할 수 있다"고 전망한 바 있다. 모건스탠리의 총 자산 운용액은 1.3조 달러 규모로 알려졌다.
