미국 연방준비제도 의장 제롬 파월이 주말에 있을 미중 회담의 중요도를 묻는 질문에 "해당 회담에 직접 참여하거나 관여돼 있는게 아니기 때문에 답변하기 어렵다. 무역 문제는 정부가 해결해야 한다. 다만 미국과 중국의 대화가 어떻게 진행되는지는 매우 중요할 것"이라고 답했다.
