원화를 기초자산으로 하는 스테이블코인 발행이 허용될 경우 한국은행이 인가 단계부터 개입할 수 있어야 한다고 한은 측이 주장했다. 연합뉴스에 따르면 고경철 한은 전자금융팀장은 지난 9일 한국금융법학회 학술대회에 참석해 "스테이블코인은 통화정책, 금융안정, 지급결제 등 중앙은행의 정책 수행에 미치는 영향이 크다"며 "중앙은행이 인가 단계에 실질적으로 개입함으로써 중앙은행 정책 수행에 미치는 부정적 영향을 최소화해야 한다"고 강조했다.
