포춘이 복수의 소식통을 인용해 달러 기반 스테이블코인 발행사 서클(USDC)이 코인베이스 또는 리플 측에 기업 매각을 위한 비공식 협상에 착수했다고 전했다. 매체는 “소식통에 따르면 서클은 기업공개(IPO) 목표 기업가치인 50억 달러를 이들 기업에 제안한 것으로 알려졌다. 한 소식통은 코인베이스가 인수 의향을 밝히면 서클이 서둘러 기업 매각을 진행할 것이라고 전했으나, 또 다른 소식통은 서클이 여전히 IPO에 더 주력하고 있다고 설명했다. 이에 대해 3사 모두 논평을 거부했다”고 설명했다.
