A security researcher found a critical vulnerability in the Evmos blockchain by reading Cosmos documents and received a $150,000 bug bounty

PANews reported on October 29 that according to Cointelegraph, the Evmos blockchain of the Cosmos network recently avoided disaster due to a critical vulnerability discovered by a Web3 security researcher. The researcher, under the pseudonym "jayjonah.eth", discovered a vulnerability that could cause the Evmos blockchain and all DApps on it to stop running by reading Cosmos documents, and thus received the highest level reward of the Evmos Bug Bounty Program - $150,000.

In a test environment, he sent funds to the module account, causing the blockchain to completely stall, confirming the severity of the vulnerability. The Evmos team quickly fixed the vulnerability. The researcher emphasized that sometimes the most critical vulnerabilities can be extremely simple, and encouraged security researchers to read the project documentation in depth.
