PANews reported on January 7th that, according to a Bitcoin Core announcement, versions 30.0 and 30.1 contain a serious vulnerability when migrating older (BDB format) wallets. In rare cases, this vulnerability could lead to the accidental deletion of all wallet files on a node, potentially resulting in permanent loss of funds if no backups are available. This only affects the migration process of legacy wallets; regular use and existing wallets are unaffected. The official release date for version 30.2 will be a fix for this vulnerability; please do not attempt to migrate your wallet until then .
