Judge postpones CFTC vs. Gemini trial to January 21

PANews reported on December 31 that according to Cointelegraph, the US court postponed the CFTC and Gemini case to January 21, 2025. New York District Judge Alvin Hellerstein announced that the trial date of the civil case between the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Gemini Trust Company was postponed from the original January 13, 2025 to January 21, and made it clear that there would be no further delays. The CFTC filed a lawsuit against Gemini in June 2022, accusing it of providing false or misleading information when submitting an application for a Bitcoin futures contract in 2017, and seeking the return of illegal gains, civil penalties and injunctions. The delay in the trial of the case may be affected by the incoming government and the policies of the new Congress.
