Tether has open-sourced its Bitcoin mining infrastructure, including MOS, a mining operating system, and a mining SDK.

PANews reported on February 3 that Tether announced the open-sourcing of its Bitcoin mining operating system, Mining OS (MOS), at the 2026 Plan ₿ forum in El Salvador. MOS is an operating system for the large-scale management, monitoring, and automation of Bitcoin mining operations, integrating hardware, energy, infrastructure, and operational data into a single system to provide end-to-end visualization and management of mining farms.

MOS coordinates the complex components of a mining farm by treating the machines, power systems, containers, and physical infrastructure as a controllable whole. The system not only monitors computing power but also energy usage, equipment health, and site infrastructure, helping operators comprehensively manage the mining environment and avoid the use of fragmented software tools.

In addition, Tether announced the launch of the Mining SDK, the development framework that powers MOS, which will be completed and released in collaboration with the open-source community in the coming months. The Mining SDK is a modular toolkit that allows developers to quickly build mining software, dashboards, and internal tools using its ready-made tools and APIs.
