PANews reported on February 18 that according to TechCrunch, after Elon Musk's AI company xAI released its latest AI model Grok 3, the X platform significantly increased the price of its Premium+ subscription plan. The plan allows users to access the Grok 3 model, and the monthly subscription fee has now risen to nearly US$50.
According to X's support page, the monthly fee for the Premium+ plan in the United States has been updated to $50, or $350 per year. This is the second price increase by X in the past few months. In December last year, the monthly fee for Premium+ increased from $16 to $22. According to these new prices, Premium+ subscribers will pay more than twice the current fee.
Additionally, xAI has put some of the features of Grok 3 into a separate SuperGrok plan, available through the Grok app. As a result, features like “deep search” and “reasoning” are only available to Premium+ users.
It is worth noting that X's pricing is inconsistent. When the reporter tried to subscribe to Premium+, X showed a monthly fee of $39.83 (annual fee of $477.95), but the final billing page showed an annual fee of $395. And although the X support page shows a monthly fee of $50, the registration page lists a price of $48.40, and the billing page shows a monthly fee of $40.
