PANews reported on January 19 that European stock markets opened sharply lower today after Trump threatened to impose tariffs on eight European countries over the Greenland issue. The Euro Stoxx 50 index opened down 1.7%, the German DAX index fell 1.3%, the UK FTSE 100 index fell 0.4%, the French CAC 40 index fell 0.7%, and the Italian FTSE MIB index fell 1.6%.
European stocks opened sharply lower as tariff risks between the US and Europe reignited.
