PANews June 1, according to Jinshi, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said on Sunday that the United States will never default on its debt as the Senate deliberates on the comprehensive tax and spending bill passed by the House of Representatives, including the debt ceiling increase clause. "The United States of America will never default," Bessant said in an interview with CBS. Bessant urged Congress to raise the federal government's debt ceiling by mid-July to avoid a default that would upend global markets.
