PANews June 5, according to the Wall Street Journal, Meta is seeking to cooperate with Hollywood to obtain exclusive content for its high-end virtual reality headsets planned to be launched next year. According to people familiar with the matter, the technology company has negotiated with entertainment brands such as Disney and A24, as well as some smaller production companies. Meta is willing to spend millions of dollars to purchase series or independent immersive video content based on well-known intellectual property rights. Meta hopes that this content will attract consumers to buy its virtual reality device planned to be launched next year, which will compete with Apple's VisionPro. The new device, code-named "Loma", is more powerful and has higher video fidelity than the Meta Quest virtual reality headset currently on the market. Its design resembles a pair of large glasses, more like Meta's Ray-Ban AI glasses than the goggles used by Quest and VisionPro, and it is connected to a small device that users can put in their pockets. According to some people familiar with the matter, Meta plans to price the device at less than $1,000, which is higher than the starting price of $300 for Quest, but lower than the base price of $3,500 for VisionPro.
