PANews reported on April 29 that according to Cointelegraph, Tether co-founder Reeve Collins said in an interview in Dubai that although the US dollar stablecoin currently dominates, diversified assets such as gold and money market funds may become new anchors for stablecoins in the future. Collins pointed out that through innovative models such as the Pi protocol, stablecoins supported by interest-bearing assets such as money market funds will be favored by the market due to higher yields.
Collins believes that the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) will reshape the stablecoin landscape: "When traditional assets such as government bonds generate substantial returns on the chain, these new stablecoins will gain an advantage." He particularly emphasized that in addition to the US dollar, diversified collateral such as gold and commodities will provide more options for stablecoin users.
