Robinhood suspends Super Bowl betting service at the request of the US CFTC. The service was only online for one day.

PANews reported on February 5 that according to Cointelegraph, Robinhood Markets has suspended Super Bowl betting services after receiving a request from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The CFTC requires Robinhood to cancel its customers' access to related event contracts.

The suspension comes just one day after Robinhood partnered with prediction market Kalishi to launch the product, which allows users to bet on the outcome of the NFL championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9. In a Feb. 4 announcement, Robinhood said it was pausing the launch of the Pro Football Championship market while it continues to work with the CFTC to understand its concerns.
