Opinion: Compared with Bitcoin, altcoins may have greater room for growth after Trump returns to the White House

PANews reported on January 19 that according to Marketwatch, some industry insiders believe that altcoins may have greater room for growth than Bitcoin after Trump returns to the White House. "Altcoins" usually refer to cryptocurrencies with a market value smaller than Bitcoin, such as:

  • Samir Kerbage, chief investment officer at Hashdex, noted that altcoins may benefit more from a digital asset-friendly regulatory environment;
  • StarkWare general counsel Katherine Kirkpatrick Bos said that Bitcoin has always had regulatory certainty, while altcoins do not. Regulatory uncertainty has prevented some institutional investors from investing in them. If the classification of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin is clearer, investors may be more comfortable allocating funds to these cryptocurrencies, which may push up their prices.
