PANews reported on April 3 that according to Eleanor Terrett, the nominee for the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, has been approved by the Senate Banking Committee and will be submitted to the full Senate for confirmation. No Democratic member supported the nomination in this vote.
