PANews reported on November 7 that according to Cointelegraph, Bitcoin mining company Hut 8 announced the purchase of 31,145 Bitmain Antminer S21+ mining machines, and it is expected that the self-mining computing power will increase by 66% in the first quarter of 2025, from the current 5.6 EH/s to 9.3 EH/s. In addition, Hut 8 has previously signed an additional purchase option of 15 EH/s with Bitmain. If this option is executed, the company's computing power will further increase to 24 EH/s, which will be achieved as early as the second quarter of 2025.

Hut 8 said that the new mining machine will significantly improve the energy efficiency of the mine, from an average of 31.7 J/TH to 19.9 J/TH. CEO Asher Genoot said that the S21+ mining machine has an advantage in return on investment and can achieve faster returns in a variety of computing power price scenarios.
