KfW Invests $11.4 Million in Crypto Securities Issued by Berlin Hyp

PANews reported on May 1 that German Reconstruction Credit Bank KfW invested $11.4 million in the crypto security Pfandbrief issued by Berlin Hyp. The security is the first crypto security under the German Electronic Securities Act and uses the SWIAT blockchain.

KfW purchased the bonds through DekaBank OTC transactions. KfW emphasized the advantages of DLT in the financial market and pointed out that the development of digital securities requires the establishment of secondary markets and central bank settlement options. In addition, KfW has issued $171 million in crypto securities on the Polygon blockchain and $1.99 billion in digital securities through the Deutsche Börse D7 platform.
