PANews reported on May 7 that according to CoinDesk, digital bank Revolut has reached a cooperation with Lightspark to provide Bitcoin Lightning Network transaction services to users in the UK and the European Economic Area. The service uses the Layer2 network to achieve low-cost, instant BTC transfers, and the specific launch time has not yet been disclosed. Lightspark was founded by former PayPal executive David Marcus and focuses on the development of real-time payment network infrastructure. Emil Urmanshin, head of Revolut's encryption business, said that the cooperation aims to improve the efficiency of cross-border payments. Data shows that similar service provider Strike processed $6 billion in transactions last year.
