PANews reported on May 27 that according to NetEase News, OpenAI plans to open an office in Seoul, South Korea in the coming months and is recruiting employees to support collaboration with businesses and policymakers. This will be the company's third office in Asia. Jason Kwon, chief strategy officer of OpenAI, said that the growth of ChatGPT users in South Korea is "abnormally rapid", and the number of weekly active users in South Korea has increased 4.5 times in the past year. He also pointed out that South Korea has the largest number of paid ChatGPT users outside the United States.
