PANews reported on December 17 that according to Cryptoslate, the Cardano Foundation has responded to concerns and criticisms about its role in the blockchain network ecosystem. Recently, the foundation has been criticized for internal conflicts and marginalization of key contributors, including Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. In addition, its role as a delegate in Catalyst Fund 13 has also attracted attention. On December 16, the foundation published an official blog and FAQ on the Cardano forum to clarify its position.
The Foundation reiterated its active participation in the Catalyst project and its commitment to promoting decentralization, governance, and sustainability. Regarding the fund vote, the Foundation stated that it focuses on supporting projects that meet these priorities, emphasizing the importance of long-term sustainability, decentralization, and governance. However, voter participation in the Catalyst project was low, with only 4.8 billion ADA registered to participate in the vote, far below the 35 billion in circulation. The 180 million ADA held by the Foundation only account for 3.75% of the registered voting rights, but it promises to increase transparency in future voting, develop more precise voting and ADA allocation standards, and encourage other stakeholders to follow suit to ensure balanced decision-making. In addition, the Foundation plans to publish a technical blog to explain the voting process.
Regarding its relationship with Input Output Global (IOG) and its position on the Cardano Charter, the Foundation acknowledged IOG's contributions but stressed its support for the Charter and ecosystem goals. This response came after Hoskinson questioned whether the Foundation was aligned with the Cardano vision and expressed concerns about the Foundation's activities, including the approval of the network budget.
