Base admits One Billion Transactions collection "imitates" Chris Biron's work, will give him all the proceeds

PANews reported on November 17 that Ethereum's second-layer network Base posted on the X platform that it accidentally imitated the work of a digital artist when designing the One Billion Transactions commemorative collection on Zora, but did not indicate the source. Base expressed its apologies for this and will give all the proceeds to Chris Biron. It will also improve the process to ensure that this does not happen again.

Yesterday, Base announced that it had achieved a milestone of 1 billion transactions per day and launched a commemorative collection on Zora. Subsequently, digital artist Chris Biron posted that the collection copied and mixed his early works, and said that "ironically, his original works were minted on the Base chain", and that the Base commemorative collection was actually a "pirated" work.
