PANews reported on April 18 that according to Cointelegraph, the President of Kyrgyzstan signed the CBDC law, giving the "Digital Som" legal tender status. The country's central bank now has the exclusive right to issue digital currency, but the final issuance decision is not expected to be made until the end of 2026.
