PANews reported on April 29 that, according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, with housing legislation stalled, House Republicans are turning to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) as a possible legislative vehicle for permanently banning central bank digital currencies, but Senate Minority Leader John Thune is not very interested in this.
After the U.S. housing bill stalled, House Republicans turned to the FISA bill to push for a permanent ban on CBDCs.
