PANews reported on January 4 that according to Phoenix.com, the Public Security Bureau of Neijiang City, Sichuan Province, held a press conference to announce that the Neijiang police recently cracked a case of illegal acquisition of computer system data supervised by the Ministry of Public Security and arrested 5 people. It is reported that the gang are all high-end "hackers" engaged in network technology, and one of them is an employee of a large network security company. They obtained citizens' personal information by writing hacker programs, and finally sold citizens' personal information on overseas websites through virtual currency, with the highest price being 5 yuan per piece.

According to police investigation, the case involved 57 government and enterprise websites, and the gang stole 208 million pieces of personal information of citizens, such as flight tracks, diplomas, and addresses, and made illegal profits of more than 6.4 million yuan. The task force seized more than 5.6 million yuan of illegal gains, seized more than 30 sets of core codes of hacker tool programs written by the suspects, more than 10 hacker virtual machines to penetrate and attack systems, and seized 270 penetration scripts. The case has been transferred for prosecution and is under trial.
