U.S. Trade Representative: The scope of Section 301 can be expanded as needed

PANews reported on May 30 that US Trade Representative Greer said that the scope of Section 301 tariff measures can be expanded as needed. Section 301 refers to the entire contents of Sections 1301-1310 of the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988, which is mainly to protect the rights of the United States in international trade and retaliate against other countries whose trade practices are considered "unreasonable" and "unfair". According to this provision, the United States can investigate the trade practices of other countries that it considers to be "unfair" and consult with the governments of the relevant countries. Finally, the president decides to take retaliatory measures such as raising tariffs, restricting imports, and suspending relevant agreements.
