PANews 6月28日消息，MetaMask今日发布公告称，因没有达到应有的安全性，已弃用eth_decrypt和eth_getEncryption PublicKey两种API中可用的方法。虽然没有基于这些方法的已知漏洞或漏洞利用事件，MetaMask不愿意推广并建议不再使用这两种API方法。
此外，MetaMask将重新推出一个更安全的方式生成密钥，上述方法仍将存在于API中并继续像当前一样运行，这将使目前依赖这些方法的第三方有时间自行调整。
