PANews reported on February 21 that, according to Reuters, European Central Bank Governing Council member Panetta stated that the costs of Trump's tariffs are "mainly borne by the United States," and that while US imports from China have declined, they have shifted to Mexico, Vietnam, and Taiwan. He also noted that cheap Chinese imports could push eurozone inflation down more quickly, and that inflation risks remain bidirectional.
