Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales: Bitcoin price may fall below $10,000 by 2050

PANews reported on February 27th that Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales stated that Bitcoin is robustly designed and unlikely to go to zero unless there is a cryptographic failure or a sudden 51% attack; even then, forked networks might continue. However, he believes Bitcoin has "completely failed" as a currency and store of value, and is more likely to fall back to a "hobbyist" price level in the future. He gave a 2050 price target of less than $ 10,000 , or even lower, based on today's value. Wales also stated that current claims of AI robots using cryptocurrencies are exaggerated, and that Bitcoin remains primarily a speculative asset, unlikely to replace traditional safe-haven assets such as gold and real estate.
