PANews reported on March 1 that, according to Jinshi News, the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued Announcement No. 7 on the afternoon of March 1 local time. The announcement stated that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was attacked by four Iranian ballistic missiles.
