PANews, March 6 – Emirates Airlines stated that it expects to resume full route operations in the coming days as the world's largest international carrier seeks to recover from a week-long shutdown triggered by the closure of its airspace due to the Middle East conflict. In a statement on Friday, Emirates said the resumption of commercial flight activities depends on the opening of airspace and the fulfillment of all operational requirements. The airline said it had transported approximately 30,000 passengers away from Dubai on Thursday. By March 7, Emirates will have 106 daily round-trip flights to 83 destinations, representing nearly 60% of its route network. The Dubai-based flagship airline had previously had to cancel thousands of flights after retaliatory attacks by Iran forced the United Arab Emirates to close its airspace and caused minor structural damage to its hub, Dubai International Airport.
Emirates Airlines countdown to "restart": 60% of routes to resume on March 7.
