Iranian missiles strike Israeli airbase, prompting Trump to call for an emergency halt to Israeli military operations.

PANews reported on June 8th that, according to Jinshi News, Iran launched multiple missile strikes against Israel on June 7th in response to the Israeli military's escalation of its operations in Lebanon. This marks Iran's first direct missile attack since the ceasefire on April 8th. This signifies a major escalation of the regional situation and could potentially undermine US-Iran negotiations and reignite hostilities. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement on the evening of June 7th, stating that the missile strikes against Israel that night were a "warning in nature," and that if Israel's military actions continue to escalate, Iran's future response will expand further, potentially covering more US and Israeli targets in the region.

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Effie Defflin said late on the 7th that Iran's missile launch into Israel that night was "a serious mistake," and that the IDF would continue its operations in Lebanon and intensify its strikes against Hezbollah. Trump advised Iran on the incident, saying: "You (Iran) have launched missiles, that's enough. Now you need to get back to the negotiating table and reach an agreement." Trump also stated that he would call Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately and tell him "not to retaliate." In a telephone interview with the media outlet, Trump said: "Netanyahu will have no choice but to accept whatever agreement is reached between the United States and Iran. I'm in charge of this, I'm in charge of everything. He (Netanyahu) isn't in charge. Iran's attack hasn't changed my willingness to reach an agreement."
