PANews reported on June 7th, citing NBC, that Trump stated the responsibility for Iran's nuclear weapons program should be attributed to his previous administration. He pointed out that during former President Obama's administration, a six-nation negotiating team reached an agreement with Iran: Iran would limit its nuclear weapons development activities in exchange for the international community easing sanctions and unfreezing some frozen Iranian assets. Trump withdrew from this agreement during his first term. Trump stated that any agreement reached with Iran would not immediately unfreeze Iranian assets. Trump said, "That's a later thing. If they behave well, if they do a good job, then we'll start talking about these things."
Trump: Unfreezing Iranian assets or lifting sanctions are not prerequisites for the agreement.
